Lovely, lovely movie, by Woody Allen. Smart, funny and light. It will make you wanna walk on the rain et parlez le français...Really loved it!

Midnight in Paris, nominated for best motion picture of the year, best achievement in art direction, best achievement in directing and best writing, original screenplay.

Oscar marathon #2

And my oscar marathon continues...

As always, David Fincher didn't disappoint me. I've never watch the other version of The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo, but I really liked this one. Besides, Rooney Mara's performance is amazing - she really deserves the nomination for best actress in a leading role. And Daniel Craig is pretty good as well (actually I think it is the first time I like his performance).

Nominated for best performance by an actress in a leading role, best achievement in sound mixing, best achievement in sound editing, best achievement in film editing and best achievement in cinematography. 

Oscar marathon

I decided to start my oscar marathon with The Tree of Life, by Terrence Malick. I hadn't read any review about the movie, I was only aware about the plot, the wonderful movie trailer and the oscar nominations (best motion picture of the year, best achievement in cinematography and best achievement in directing).

After watching it, I immediately ran into IMDb to check out the reviews - as I suspected, there were mainly two kinds of opinions: either people absolutely loved it or absolutely hated it.

Personally, I can't decide how I fell about this movie. It's definitely not for everyone. Nevertheless, it sure deserves best achievement in cinematography - it's an absolute visual delight. 

Currently on my wishlist...
